New GSM clamshell style mobile phones with 16MB memory have been unveiled by Cingular Wireless, a US wireless carrier, and LG Electronics MobileComm, a WCDMA, CDMA and GSM handset manufacturer.

The LG C2000 camera phone offers 640x480 snapshots from its VGA camera, polyphonic ringtones, speakerphone, mirror and voice-activated dialling. In addition it features IM capability, photo caller ID and Cingular's My MEdia, enabling users to access and store downloaded graphics, games and ringtones.

The LG C1500 offers a 65k colour LCD screen, Multimedia messaging capabilities and polyphonic sound. It also features a colour filter external display with caller ID, a speakerphone and IM and Music Tones customisation capabilities.

The C2000 and C1500 are available with a two-year service agreement for USD59.99 and USD29.99 respectively, after a USD30.00 mail-in rebate.
