Nortel Networks [NT] won a contract to supply an optical metro backbone network based on dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) to Dacom of Korea. The equipment was sold through local distributor LG Electronics.

Using a network based on Nortel's Optera Metro 5200 multiservice platform, Dacom will be able to launch storage area network data-backup services for its enterprise customers.
